Meet Greyson J. Shambaugh
A Dedicated Cybersecurity Professional

Greyson partners with small businesses and enterprise organizations to simplify their cybersecurity stack and strengthen their defenses. He is also a cybersecurity speaker, educating C-suite and technical audiences.

My Story

My path into cybersecurity started hands-on, building, fixing, and securing systems for businesses that depended on technology they didn't always understand. That early work taught me something that still drives me today: the best security isn't about the most complex tools, it's about making protection clear, accessible, and actually usable.

That belief carried me to Huntress, where I've grown across sales, competitive intelligence, and now technical account management. Along the way, I've worn a lot of hats, prospecting and educating new partners, analyzing the competitive landscape, building AI-powered tools to sharpen our team, and serving as the technical partner organizations lean on to strengthen their security.

What ties it all together is a simple idea: I'd rather teach than sell, partner than transact, and simplify than complicate. Whether I'm leading a technical review, speaking to a room of executives, or helping a partner get fully deployed, my goal is always the same, to leave people more confident and better protected than I found them.

Professional Experience

Technical Account Manager

Greyson serves as a Technical Account Manager at Huntress, acting as the primary post-sales technical liaison for MSP partners and customers and bridging the gap between deep security expertise and real-world business outcomes. His focus is helping partners maximize the value of the Huntress platform, whether that means leading technically driven QBRs, accelerating onboarding and time-to-value, or resolving complex escalations in collaboration with Product and Engineering. He takes a consultative approach to every engagement, working to understand each partner's environment and security goals rather than simply answering tickets.

Greyson also helped design and launch a new onboarding initiative aimed at driving full deployment across newly signed logos, streamlining the path from contract to complete platform adoption and ensuring partners realize value faster from day one. Beyond day-to-day support, he advocates internally for customer and partner needs, translating field feedback into product insights and serving as a direct link between partners and Huntress's Product Management team. He represents Huntress at events and training sessions, and contributes to account growth through up-sell and cross-sell opportunities identified during technical reviews.

Across these engagements, Greyson works hands-on with Huntress's core products, including EDR, ITDR, SIEM, SAT, ISPM, and ESPM, applying deep expertise across endpoint security, MSP operations, incident response, threat actor tradecraft, technical enablement, and partner success.

Competitive Intelligence Representative

Greyson completed a six-month Competitive Intelligence rotation at Huntress, focused on developing, synthesizing, and disseminating actionable market insights to inform sales, product, and marketing strategy. He built a strong foundation in competitive research and cross-functional communication, directly contributing to sharper competitive positioning and broader organizational enablement across the business. Among his key accomplishments, he authored weekly competitive intelligence briefings covering win, loss, churn, and renewal deal analysis alongside competitor news and market shifts for stakeholders across sales, product, and marketing. He developed a tiered competitor framework segmented by product, market, and region using Pareto analysis, which was adopted by the sales, product, marketing, and web teams. He also built an AI-powered agent using Glean and Serval to give sellers instant, self-serve access to the competitive intelligence database, and created a separate AI agent using Claude to automate weekly win/loss deep-dive analysis, accelerating insight delivery while reducing manual effort. In addition, he contributed to the successful launch of ISPM and ESPM.

Sales Development Representative

As a Sales Development Representative at Huntress, Greyson played a key role in driving company growth by identifying and engaging potential new customers. He managed both outbound prospecting and inbound interest, ensuring qualified leads were successfully transitioned into valuable conversations for the Account Executive team. His day-to-day centered on building meaningful connections with prospects, understanding their business needs, and clearly communicating how Huntress could deliver real value. He researched and qualified new accounts for alignment with the Ideal Customer Profile, set up strategic meetings that expanded Huntress' reach, and documented all activity in the CRM to maintain data accuracy and sales efficiency. He also continually refined his outreach through feedback, training, and collaboration, embodying the Huntress approach of not just selling, but educating and empowering partners and the broader cybersecurity community.

Technical Sales, Full Cycle

Greyson served as the primary point of contact for his client portfolio, owning relationships from onboarding through renewal and driving strong satisfaction and retention. He drove pre-sales prospecting at industry conferences, engaging prospects face to face and converting those connections into long-term clients. By aligning solutions to each client's business goals, he conducted threat assessments, developed tailored mitigation strategies, and strengthened security postures, building trusted partnerships and uncovering opportunities to grow service coverage.

Security and IT Support Specialist

Greyson maintained and optimized client computer systems, collaborating with upper management to refine workflows and identify opportunities for improvement. He resolved technical issues across local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi, and other infrastructure, while monitoring endpoint detection and response platforms and DNS filtering tenants for compromised systems. His work included reviewing intrusion detection reports, strengthening email security, and documenting recommendations to address vulnerabilities and enhance overall system efficiency. He also designed, built, and modified systems and hardware to meet each client's unique security needs, continually expanding his technical expertise through ongoing study. Rounding out his role, Greyson tested and maintained workflow systems, delivered regular progress reports, and provided responsive on-call support both in person and by phone.
